Pope emeritus lies in state at the Vatican

Benedict’s election as pope occurred in the 2005 papal conclave that followed the death of Pope John Paul II. Benedict chose to be known as “Pope emeritus” upon his resignation, and he retained this title until his death in 2022. Pope Benedict died Saturday. He was 95, and his death came just days after Pope Francis asked for prayers following reports that his predecessor’s health was failing.
Pope Benedict not only left an “important mark” on theology and spirituality but also on the history of the papacy, with his courage to step aside. Benedict cited age and declining health when he stepped down in 2013.
He was also a staunch protestor to the then Pope John Paul, who continued as Pope even in death bed and this had caused many important decisions on the day to day works kept pending due to the non availability of the Pope, however the late Pope John Paul believed that once a person was anointed as Pope, it was his solemnly duty to continue till death.
Pope Benedict`s funeral is set to Thursday.

After a lot of mishaps, pandemics, deaths, the world seemed to enjoy whatever it gets in respect of just being alive and salutations to the world. The year 2023, was celebrated by everyone all over the world with great pompous & style hoping for good news and a prosperous year.
As blessed, no news of issues were reported, though a wild stampede in Fortkochi just escaped or else it would have been a great tragedy. This year saw great number of people in FK and the police were trying hard to be in control. Many roads were cut off and people had to walk long distances to reach the beach, especially those coming from Vypeen.

Videocon-ICICI Fraud case

The ICICI Bank sanctioned loans worth ₹1,875 crore to the Videocon Group and the companies associated with it between 2009 and 2011. Most of these loans were in complete violations of banking regulations and ICICI Bank policies. Chanda Kochhar was the CEO and Managing Director of the ICICI Bank then. The probe agency has alleged that ICICI Bank in 2009 had sanctioned credit of Rs 3,250 crore to Videocon Group companies in violation of the Banking Regulation Act, RBI guidelines, and the private lender’s credit policy.. The day after the loan was disbursed, Dhoot transferred Rs 64 crore to NRL from VIEL through SEPL, the CBI has alleged.
